GROUND POMEGRANATE SEEDS

Grounded seeds of slow air drying seeds of wild Pomegranate fruit along with pulp. Found in Iranian Plateau, Southern Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and in Northern India. Has high acidity and ascorbic acid content with a natural sweet, tangy & tart, fruity flavor. Pairs well with: Apple, Beans, Bulgur, Chicken, Chickpeas, Cilantro, Cream Cheese, Eggplant, Ginger, Lentils, Parsley, Scallion, Shrimp, Turkey, Fresh Coriander, Fresh Mint.

Uses: Anardana can enrich a sauce or braising liquid. Anardana is widely used instead of lime juice, as acidulent souring agent in Indian & Persian cooking. Mostly used to sour chutneys, relishes in seasoning, Spice rubs for meat & seafood, Indian Sauces, in Moghul-style dishes in any lentil preparation, vegetable turn out or even in a rice dishes. In Middle East they are used in pastries and breads. For a rich & profound taste use in slow cooked chicken legs or lamb.
