Also known as Ma Jiao or Vine pepper, is the outer husk of a dried fresh green berry (greenish shell with black seed inside) of aromatic Chinese Prickly Ash tree. The berries are initially green, turning red and get brown as they ripen. Intensity: Spicy (5/10)
